# FAQ

## **1. What Is a Cross-Exchange Account?**

CrossEx is an all-in-one cross-exchange trading, clearing, and settlement platform designed for professional investors, quantitative trading teams, and institutions. With a unified cross-exchange account system, low-latency order execution, and unified clearing and settlement across exchanges, CrossEx provides cost-effective access to multiple leading exchanges. It enables shared margin across exchanges, significantly improving execution quality and capital efficiency.

## **2. What Trading Features Does a Cross-Exchange Account Support?**

* **Trading products:** Spot trading and USDT-margined perpetual futures.
* **Leverage:** Up to 50x.
* **Position modes:** One-way mode and hedge mode.
* **Position margin mode:** Cross-margin mode.
* **Account margin mode:** Cross-exchange margin mode. USDT, BNB, BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, USDC, KRAKEN\_USD, and HYPERLIQUID\_USDC can be used as unified cross-exchange margin assets, enabling centralized risk management and improving capital efficiency.

## **3. Which Assets Can Be Transferred Within a Cross-Exchange Account?**

The fund transfer API currently supports internal transfers of the following assets within a cross-exchange account: USDT, BTC, ETH, XRP, BNB, SOL, TRX, DOGE, ADA, SUI, AVAX, LTC, and DOT. For the most up-to-date information, refer to `/api/v1/crossex/transfers/coin`.

## **4. What Are the Advantages of CrossEx?**

* **Unified access:** There is no need to open accounts or build separate integrations with multiple exchanges. By connecting to the CrossEx API, you can trade on multiple exchanges simultaneously, significantly reducing the technical and operational barriers to cross-exchange trading.
* **Improved capital efficiency:** CrossEx supports cross-exchange margin and fund transfers. A single USDT balance can be shared across multiple exchanges, and profits and losses across positions can offset each other, significantly improving capital utilization.
* **Unified framework:** CrossEx provides unified trading, clearing and settlement, and independent risk management mechanisms. It abstracts away the underlying differences between exchanges, delivering a more consistent trading experience and better risk control.
* **Competitive pricing:** CrossEx offers competitive fee rates for retail users, brokers, and institutional clients, helping reduce trading costs.

## **5. How Can I Distinguish Between Assets in a Cross-Exchange Account?**

* When assets in a cross-exchange account are held on different exchanges, their symbols include the identifier of the relevant exchange.
* For USDT, the exchange identifier in the symbol is CrossEx.

## **6. How Do I Trade with a Cross-Exchange Account?**

Cross-exchange accounts support trading through both the user interface and the API.

You can query trading pair information through `/api/v1/crossx/rule/symbols`. The `symbol` field in the response identifies the corresponding exchange and market type, such as `BINANCE_FUTURE_ADA_USDT` or `OKX_FUTURE_ADA_USDT`. Only assets with a matching symbol can be traded in the corresponding market on that exchange. For details, refer to the CrossEx API documentation.

## **7. How Are Fund Transfer Fees Charged?**

For transfers between exchanges within a cross-exchange account, Gate charges fees according to the relevant exchange’s standard on-chain fee schedule. No additional on-chain fees are imposed.

## **8. Do I Need to Create API Keys and Sub-Accounts on Other Exchanges?**

No. You can trade assets held in your cross-exchange account directly on other exchanges through the CrossEx API.

## **9. What Are the Differences Between Exchanges?**

CrossEx handles margin calculations, risk management rules, and the routing and distribution of API requests. The main differences between exchanges relate to their parameter configurations, such as funding rates, order parameters, contract tiers, debt tiers, discount rates, collateral ratios, interest charges, and forced liquidation.

## **10. Is There an Insurance Fund?**

Yes. A 2% liquidation fee is charged during forced liquidation. The remaining liquidation fees are allocated to an insurance fund to cover losses arising from liquidation shortfalls.

## **11. Are There Rate Limits for Placing Orders on Hyperliquid? How Is the Allowance Calculated?**

Each Hyperliquid account has a default allowance of 100 order-placement API requests. Each order-placement request consumes one allowance unit. After an order is successfully placed, every 1 USDC of executed volume adds one allowance unit.

Once the allowance is exhausted, you can make only one order-placement API request every 10 seconds until the allowance is restored.

## **12. How Do I Repay Hyperliquid USDC Debt?**

If your Hyperliquid account has outstanding USDC debt, you can repay it through Convert:

1. Call the Convert quote endpoint `/api/v1/crossex/convert/quote` to obtain a quote for converting CrossEx USDT into Hyperliquid USDC.
2. After confirming the quote, call the Convert order endpoint `/api/v1/crossex/convert/orders` to submit the conversion order.
3. Once the conversion is completed, the resulting Hyperliquid USDC will first be used to repay the outstanding USDC debt.
4. After the debt is fully repaid, any remaining Hyperliquid USDC can be converted back into CrossEx USDT through the same Convert endpoints.

**Interest Rules**

USDT and USDC debts incurred in a CrossEx account accrue interest. Hyperliquid USDC debt includes an interest-free allowance of 10,000 USDC, and only the portion exceeding this allowance accrues interest. You can query the hourly interest rates for assets on each exchange through `/api/v1/crossex/interest_rate`.

## **13. What Are CrossEx’s ADL Ranking Rules?**

CrossEx does not perform order matching itself. ADL is handled natively by each exchange. For details about ADL ranking, refer to each exchange’s own ADL rules.

You can view ADL ranking information for your positions through `/api/v1/crossex/adl_rank`. The API documentation takes precedence. The response contains the following two fields:

* `exchange_adl_rank`: The ranking of CrossEx’s aggregate position in the upstream exchange’s ADL queue. Priority from highest to lowest for each exchange is as follows:
  * BINANCE: 4, 3, 2, 1, 0
  * OKX: 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0
  * GATE: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
  * KRAKEN: 20, 40, 60, 80, 100
  * BYBIT: 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0
  * ASTER: 4, 3, 2, 1, 0
* `crossex_adl_rank`: Your ADL ranking among CrossEx users trading the same trading pair. Priority from highest to lowest is 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.

Only after an upstream exchange has actually executed a partial ADL on CrossEx’s positions will CrossEx passively reduce the positions of relevant users according to `crossex_adl_rank`, using the same price and direction.

Therefore, your Binance ADL rank may be low while your `crossex_adl_rank` is 5. For example, if only a small number of CrossEx users participate in the ranking for that trading pair, you may rank near the front of the internal queue. However, unless the upstream exchange triggers ADL, CrossEx will not proactively reduce your position merely because your `crossex_adl_rank` is high.
